I recently found this clipping at the back of a drawer. It is from a magazine or possibly a brochure, and presumably dates back to the late 1970s, which is when I bought my Aerospace Sport. The spec is the same as my bike when new (if I remember correctly). Danny

Great find! And welcome to the forum.
Hi-Tensile Steel. I wonder if $115.00 was the price?

It would have been £115, not $115. I think I paid about £125 for mine in late 1978.

Thanks for posting this and sharing it with us all Danny.
It's a great help towards identifying and dating the various Viscount models and their componentry.

Some people may remember when I had an AS Sport frame re-sprayed a while ago in colours to match my Sebring. I got fed up with walking round the bare frame in the garage but don't have the patience to restore it to its original specification, so I had a dig around in my boxes of bits and this is what I came up with: Screen Shot 2017-08-02 at 19.37.08 by RMT@261, on Flickr Sort of catches the modern 'gravel bikes' trend, I think. More pictures of it in various states of disrepair in Flickr Albums here and/or here

Lovely build Rob. One less thing to go wrong. Cheers, Pete.
