Hi, I'm just curious how many out there were a victim of the death fork? Mine broke and sent me flying over the handlebars all of a week or so before I received the recall notice, lol!!!

To quote Busaste, writing on page 2 of the Cycling UK (formerly CTC) forum, the percentage of broken forks out of some 30,000 'death fork' equipped bikes, was less than 1%.
There were some quite serious incidents with varying degree of injury, but as far as we know (and I hope I'm not tempting fate here) nobody died from their injuries.
I hope you escaped relatively unscathed.
A true 'Death Forker'! Welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard! Can you fill us in on how the fork was treated in terms of mileage, riding style, etc. Were you a curb jumper, pothole smasher type rider or did it just snap with no provocation? Inquiring minds (and those of us still using them) would like to know. Cheers, Michael

I remember the figure of 0.02% breakage , so you are indeed one of the unlucky few bigr9266!

Thanks for passing that article along Robert, I might post it elsewhere.
Well, it sure gives one pause to think.
That last paragraph is telling.
