Hi all, Just a reminder that, if possible, can you host your photos elsewhere and then insert a link to them, rather than post directly to this forum. (there is also a limit of 3 pics with size of 1mg per pic) It will not break the internet or anything if you do post directly , but at some point we reach the limit for this free forum and then I am not sure what happens (maybe they just don't load, or you get an error message?) See below...thanks for you help!

For my part, I will try to link photos to aid in this manner. Maybe later, I will delete some photos I posted. Some things are important such as the Viscount branded nuts and bolts that the other gentleman put up.

Perhaps it is time to create a second free forum and refer to the first as the archive forum? On the new forum, uploaded files could be limited to 200k or so and it would have a much longer life.
Just a Thought Jim

I'll be careful but among the 20 or so regulars here, I'm surprised this is a problem. Just think of some of your big forums out there.

Leaving the forum as an archive and starting another feels a bit like leaving earth in search of another planet to me...just too scary, and none reversible.
I am now thinking that maybe I have read the statistics wrong and that we have that 'allowance' per month.?? Maybe it will re-set soon. It's not made very clear, but there is a function to ask questions on a 'Proboards' forum.
Either way, we will find out when the limit is reached. If I am wrong and a limit is reached then I will have a look at how much it costs to upgrade (I think it is a very small amount of money, maybe the cost of a pint?) So I might do that. I just paid to get rid of the adverts because they were bugging me, and it cost way less than I thought. But could always put up with the adverts and channel that fund into the storage size upgrade.
EDIT- Just realised that I can access all the images that are stored directly on this forum and then duplicate them and make a Photobucket account and then re-attach them to the threads they belong to. A bit time consuming but would free up all that space. But then again, it's only $3 a month to get the next storage size package. I'll have a think.

I said in the other thread and I'll repeat it, maybe folks could also use "pedal room" to host photos. I posted this Viscount (not mine) a few months ago: www.pedalroom.com/bike/viscount-2467It's pretty quiet over there, just between us. It would also serve as a place to somewhat store something for posterity; I guess, just make sure a bike is involved so one isn't taking advantage of it. Those websites like pedal room and velo space seem to be comprised by mostly a bunch of fixie types. So who knows? Just throwing that out as an idea.
